Weather Tomorrow

St. Swithin's Day is 15 July, a day on which people watch the weather for tradition says that whatever the weather is like on St. Swithin's Day, it will continue so for the next forty days.

'St. Swithin's day if thou dost rain
For forty days it will remain
St. Swithin's day if thou be fair
For forty days 'twill rain nae mair (no more)

I am glad I had my trip away in May & June:o

On St Swithins Day 1976 - 20mm of rain fell on Luton in the late evening, then 38 out of the next 40 days were dry.

How late? Could it have fallen in the next day in GMT rather than BST or someting like that!!! Isn't it the exception that proves the rule :D

 I don't know I'm no expert (in anything!!)

I hope he's right, I'm getting up at 0500 to catch the tide to Burnham...

Well fingers crossed mate. I shall be out a little later than 5am but hoping for marginally less blow than today..

Oh well 'll let me try out the storm jib if it all goes pearshaped. :)
