Been invited to help bring a 60footer home from Spain to Uk early september where's the best place to find long distance forecasts 3 or 4 weeks in adavance?

Can't help you much with Spain, but in 3-4 weeks in the UK it will be raining and windy, I guarantee it.

i did this trip earlier in the year.

Key thing is to have the general forecast okay and for this you need wetterzentrale.de from germany which gives 9-day synoptics.

imho, for a delivery trip, when the weather is good it is hammer down and go, rather than poncing about overnighting in marinas. Gibralter, vilamoura, cascais (lisbon), la coruna, brest for fuel. Plot a course *just* outside the outside of the shipping lanes which are on the eastern (inshore) side northbound and this gives summink to watch on the radar - the ships going north wioth u at 20 knots.

mind you, if you're beiong "!invited" -in what capacity? skipper, navigator, crew or hanger on?

Get the phone numbers of the target refuelling stops ahead, and ringem so when you arrive they are ready. Use the Livre de Bord for this which has up to date info, rather than poxy macmilans which tends to update the tide tables and hope the phone numbers are okay, or so it seems for mainland europe.

other sites are theyr.net and windguru.cz tho windguru is occassionally flaky. Atantic weather is much easier to predict than med wher one minute it is f8 and the next it is f2.
