Weather forecasting (maritime) in the 1980/90s

1500m LW R2/4, I can't remeober when the station changed from R2 to R4. Today they use fequency rather than wavelength I am not sure why they made that change.

Ps some other old wave lengths

194m Capital Radio (little Nicky horn etc)
208m Radio Luxembourg

According to https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/BBC_Radio_4#History, the change was made in 1978. I'll guess that the ageing audience served by R4 is more rural than the R2 audience.
