Weather forecasting, French coast

Having just spent 3 weeks on the French coast between Dunkerque and Fecamp, I thought I'd just pass on what I found about the French coastal forecasts I used. I latched on to those from Meteo Consult, whose printouts seemed to be in most HMs' windows. The forecasts I found online are for sections of the coast, e.g. Dunkerque-Boulogne, Boulogne-Dieppe, Dieppe-Fecamp, and so on. They are for 3-hour intervals, and I found them quite uncannily accurate. Every day. It was a bit of a shock to the system after the Met Office Inshore Waters stuff which, at least for our SE corner, usually seems just plain wrong.

In Brittany as we speak - have been using Meteo France but will give Meteo Consult a try... accurate weather is gold dust!!

Meteo consult U.K. goves similar forecasts for the U.K. I find them pretty good and they offer more detail such as wave and swell height and direction.

But not visibility? If I had to choose, I'd rather have a forecast of visibility than anything else.

We have the Meteo Consult App on the phone too... Very good forecasts.

I've found the Meteo Consult forecasts can be a bit extreme. F3 to F7 not being unusual. Guess they are cya.(Oops! have I iinfringed the new innuendo rules?)

Good app though.
