Now it amazes me how the weather and sea condition can change in the space of a 10 mile stretch, I know why it does it etc just still amazes me, how you can round a headland and be in the [--word removed--] and the other side is lovely. how patches of water sometimes just seem to be boiling for no obvious reason to an on looker.

here are 3 photos taken on Thursday,
different_weather_3.jpg

this was me in a sport boat about 38ft long, west of new town creek.feeling a bit like a cork. not easy to try and take a photo and then duck /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif

different_weather.jpg

this guy was about 1 or 2 mile further toward Southampton, chugging along at about 15 knots, as tho the sea was flat calm.

this guy was around East Leap and was shifting , must have been around 10= knots
the sea was much calmer down that end.

Different boats handle the sea differently , Ideally It would be great to have one for every type of sea, just think never having to not go out if the weather was bad. But then it's fun to stay in the marina and enjoy the pub hospitaliy.................................. sometimes /forums/images/graemlins/wink.gif

You'll have to buy a Nelson then.........or a submarine!

My own boat handles small seas, big seas, following seas very well etc but the only one it doesn't like is.........wind against tide. Horrrible!

I find age is a factor. The phot was taken on the way back from Trafalgar 200. Brother and Mobo mate thought it was great fun. Wife was fine until she got wet. Mum and Dad (life long raggies who are a little disturbed the no.1 son has gone and bought an anti social MoBo) just sat as still as possible, with mum sitting on the step between the helm and sun lounger in the middle of the cockpit wearing one life jacket and clutching another!

BTW, what was the 38' MoBo you were on, an S37?
