We will all know soon ?

Re: Derogation or not the fuel price IS soaring!

Even if we are given a stay on red diesel for a year or two longer, the prices are soaring! God help us if the prices keep going up like they have this year and we loose red diesel! its going to be the wealthy who will only be able to afford to run their boats. The rest will just sit rotting in marinas because they cannot sell them!

Well according to some very large threads on this forum a year agao many claimed it would make no difference and that the price drop had already been discounted into boats. I do not think this is true - I think MoBo oweners are like rabbits transfixed in the headlights ..... frozen and hoping.

Re: Derogation or not the fuel price IS soaring!

I've just sent a message to my MP to raise her objection again through www.writetothem.com
Too little, too late I expect and back to the 'good old days' of "if you've got to ask how much - you can't afford it". At least boating being an elitist pastime will no longer be a fallacy

Re: Derogation or not the fuel price IS soaring!

If it happens it will change the economy of scale for the UK Leisure Marine Industry and lots of things will have to go up because of the smaller scale of selling.

Brown would actually raise lexx tax overall not more but I do not expect logic here. My MP has not evn answered me in the last year.

Brown has raised taxes every year mopping up all the growth in the economy and borrowing on top of that. I am not hopeful.

Re: Derogation or not the fuel price IS soaring!

Red Diesel. I recall seeing on the Forum that a number of countries are against the proposed increase in red diesel. Can anyone please tell me who they are/were/

Thanks

The answer is in the article: [ QUOTE ]
As well as ensuring the UK Government is up to speed on the red diesel issue, the BMF has been campaigning in Belgium, Ireland, Finland and Malta, which are also facing the loss of the fuel at the end of this year.

I think you are all naive if you think that Grodon will pass up on an opportunity to raise more tax. He is in a hole and he needs more money.

If can tax views from houses, he will have almost dug up the old window tax as well.
