We value you privacy !!!!!!!

Re: FIXED - Re: We value you privacy !!!!!!!

I have just fixed this (after much investigation). Essentially it looks like there was a corrupt cookie in the browser cookie jar. If you are using Chrome as your browser here are the steps that worked for me.

  1. Navigate to 'chrome://settings/siteData' (without the quotes) by pasting or typing it into the address bar and hit return
  2. type 'ybw' into the search area (not in "Search settings" at the top - but the smaller one adjacent the magnifying glass
  3. delete everything there by clicking on the bin icon. There will likely be some for www.ybw.com and some for ybw.com. Get rid of all
  4. Close the tab.
  5. Visit ybw.com/forums - YOu'll need top log in, but for me, all is well now.

Dear Sea Spray - thank you.

Let joy be unconfined and calm reading and contributing descend upon the forums - till the next time that is.

Annnnnnd 24hrs later the B - - - - y things back - O woe is me !

What's worse is I've Sea Spray'ed it and it won't now go away - is it the Russians introducing a Sea Spray block ?

Seriously though YBW you now have more than one person complaining - you have to know about it - surely it wouldn't be to much to say "we are working on it" or "here's how to remedy" - or aren't you interested ?

It must be something in your own setup as several users, including me, have said they don't have the problem. So it can't be anything the PBO admin can solve. I stay logged on all the time and visit the site most days.

Well I don't have any problem either. I do use Firefox Browser and I often get warned the site I'm trying to access is not safe or alternatively they will tell me they blocked a pop-up. When a site asks for permission to do something (like sending me update etc) I never give permission.

When I'm trying to price an item at (say) a hardware chain and they ask for the post code of the nearest store I never divulge that. I do quite often go through the cookies and edit them (I probably delete ⅔ of them but most would never be a problem anyway)

Well, the issue hasn't returned for me.

It only ever appeared on under Chrome (on Android and Windows). Now gone for both.

Hard to say whether the fault is caused by something on your PC or at IPC (or whatever they're called nowadays). Pruning cookies is seldom harmful, although they may be used for storing sessions etc, forcing re-login.
