It is the Vuurschepen race part of the Dutch North Sea Regatta. They race over arriving Wednesday , party hard at Pin Mill and RHYC and then race back on Friday in the RORC North Sea Race.
An annual event. This year there were 60 plus starters and probably another 20 odd British boats will join the race back.

I remember once there was an Open 40 in the fleet that was too deep to go on the outside of the 7-deep raft off the RHYC hammerhead and had to spend a chunk of the night motoring up and down the channel. Someone must have been annoyed at being both awake and sober.
