waterproofing of a canvas bimini

the bimini (canvas cover extending the sprayscreen) on my boat has started leaking.
is there a reasonably priced product that can be painted or sprayed on?

Yes - try Grangers Solution from a camping shop - you can get either Spray On or paint on - the spray is easy but expensive(one can only just did my small spray hood) - paint on is cheaper and better.

Hi Guyward,

I'm with waterbuffalo here. Have used Fabsil on different boats for many years and had excellent results. We find it lasts for about 2-3 years before needing another application, but then we were full time cruising in the Med/Caribbean so the sprayhood was blasted with UV virtually full time.

Any self-respecting camping shop will provide suitable product ....
but check that it has no effect on any clear windows etc. (I know yours is a bimini - but there are those reading this and would apply to sprayhoods etc. etc.)

thomsons waterseal is very good for waterproofing canvas and very cheap.

As suggested Fabsil (which is by Grangers). Get the can of liquid stuff and if you want to spray it use a garden sprayer. I put a reply to a post about sprayhood fabrics on the PBO forum about 15 minutes ago mentioning this product.
