Waterproofing electrical connections

I have to make a T Splice to a 4mm 12v cable in a confined area, although not wet, it will need to be waterproof.

Any suggestions on how to accomplish this?

there is a product from usa called Starbright liquid electrical tape i have a pot 20yrs old and still good!

if you can Y splice it
solder it
heat shrink it with hot glue slivers inside

Just use three stuffing glands for the cables to achieve IP55

Thanks for the replies guys. It looks like the easy way to do this is with some sort of gel, but I am tempted by the idea of a junction box. I'll measure up when I get to the boat and see how much room I have got, and exactly how accessible the cables are and how many joints I will have to do.
