Hi,

I read an article a while back in YW about waterproof speakers that you stick to the hull and then they use the hull to generate the sound. They looked really good and pretty cheap, but i cant remember who made them.

Also if anyone else has got them, are they any good?

The speakers I think you mean can be found in Maplins, called MYLOR, they have a clear plastic cone, impervious to moisture, between £4-00 and £8-00. I fitted a 4" one as a VHF extension in the cockpit of my Trapper. Excellent clarity.

Hi,

I think you are thinking of the NXT type system which uses a trasnducer to resonate the surrounding material. Normally the NXT system uses a type of closed cell foam with a transducer, they are actually pretty good and they use it in laptops.
