Tim Thornton talks about waterproof PC repeater displays in this months YM. Does anybody have any info i.e. cost/availability/suppliers. Only info found is a Samsung 7" mini monitor due out in september.
I investigated this - best info I could find was that they are not as waterproof as they should be and are expensive. I was advised that a binnacle mounted chartplotter would be cheaper and more reliable. Not very satisfactory, so still popping in and out of the cabin when using mine!
dunno where he gets waterproof one from ... even field tablet PC's are not full waterproof ... and anyway anything even remotely near water-protected !! is EXPENSIVE !
Myself and another were developing 12v on-board PC systems ... it was the display side that killed it off ... we'd cured the main unit, keyboard, mouse etc. so they were sealed ... Displays were useless.
