Waterproof choc blocks

Following on from the "Choc blocks and rust" thread, what would you use to connect a masthead light with short wires to the main supply cable at the top of the mast ?. Same question for steaming light.

A starting poiunt could be I guess a high quality choc block smothered in silicone sealant ?. Thoughts ?.

Ideally the main cable would be wired into a waterproof housing which formed part of the light.. Its a shame manufacturers don't think this way ............
 
If permanent then crimp connectors with adhesive lined heat shrink. If you need to be able to disconnect then look at "Gel boxes" - small gel-filled enclosures that will provide a water-proof seal round a choc-block or similar
