Hi all,

We have a 20', open-bow, Sea Hunt Escape. We want to buy a CD player / radio for our boat. There was already one there but it was damaged. Our boat stays in the water at a dock and is uncovered except for a small bimini top. Our boat is in south Florida.

So what is good CD player / radio that will not be damaged by the rain, wind, etc? Preferrably, not too expensive.

Thanks,

Bob

I installed a Fusion with the remote in our old boat & it was a good unit. In our new boat, I went for the Sony marine unit & that's equally as good, and seems to work better with my iPod. The Fusion occassionally crashed/locked every now & then.

Hi
I fitted a Poly-Planar ME-50 2 Channel Zone Amplifier - 25 Watt (RMS) per Channel
Its basically a marinised stereo amp that takes a an MP3 input
from www.audioallies.com
It is a very nice unit and the above company are very helpful, and all you can see once installed is an MP3 jack input so it is very unlikely that anyone will try and steal it

you might want to consider one with bluetooth;then you can stream music from phone,mp3,ipod etc. You can also locate it out of the way, if you decide to stream the music, as your phone controls the track/volume etc.
