Watermaker biocide?

Thank you for that.

Check with your manufacturer. Some membranes are different. My Spectra watertmaker comes with a strict warning to use a different Biocide to most!

From my WM manual......NOTE: Do not use metasodium-bisulfate, the standard chemical used to store mostwatermakers. This chemical will permanently damage the Clark Pump and void the
warranty.......

mine has a clark pump and my uses that stuff? I thought it was sodium metabisuphate?

I have to buy my first batch, as the stuff that came with the unit will be used up this winter. So my question is...Is all biocide the same? If it helps we have an Eco Tec W/M.

Thanks in advance.

I have a Echo Tec water maker, the three chemicals you need are:

Sodium Metabisulpite (could be metabisulphate the discussion continues but we think its the same stuff) to "pickle" the membrane used in the brewing industry and for food preservation.

Sodium Hydroxide : The Alkaline Cleaner (Bottle #1) also know as drain cleaner

Citric Acid : The acid Cleaner (Bottle#2)

All easily available either on-line or from pharmacies in Turkey
