So it appears my scilencer has sprung a leak, I’m looking for a replacement and hear good things about vetus plastic ones, I can only see the one box and not multiple like what I saw on the website setup - perhaps I’m overthinking it, I was going to call Svb for parts unless there’s anyone else??

Also being a giant banana I didn’t measure the OD of the pipes any other way I can find out while away from the boat? It’s a Bavaria 30 2006

Pretty sure they are 50mm and you can either repair the stainless end cap if the leak is minor, replace it with a standard Volvo unit, or with a Vetus NLPH, but think you will have to also replace the first length of pipe because the Vetus one is shorter.

The whole end cap has corrosion on it to be fair it needs replacing, my dilema is Volvo parts are circa £250 Vetus NLPH is a similar price though but i guess corrosion resistant!, im assuming an old thread where i found this linked https://www.force4.co.uk/force-4-waterlock-silencer.html is probably not the right thing, seams cheap

I've just (today) replaced the standard Volvo fitting with a Vetus one (https://www.vetus.com/en/exhaust-sy...lock-type-lp45-with-rotating-inlet-45-mm.html) on my Bavaria 38. It was a straight swap: undo hose clips and brackets, remove hoses, remove old one (full of water!) replace. The Vetus one occupies more or less the same space as the old one so an easy job (for once). Inner hose diameter is 45mm and seeing as the same exhaust silencer fits all the MD20X0 range, it would seem likely that your exhaust hose is also 45mm inner diameter.

Just in case you still would like to keep that, it can be easily fixed.
I was ready to trash the stainless steel waterlock i have because of leaking from both the top and the bottom. As this is a good fit for the limited space i just brought it home and sealed it with liquid epoxy that got in all low spots on the surfaces. I made a coat of about 3-4mm on each side. Epoxy is heat resistant to 120C, far more than the waterlock normal temperature. Costed 0$, just spent sometime on it.

i will fit a new one and then polish and re-weld the end caps, test it and e-bay it, looking at volvo parts its got to be 45mm as the next size up genuine part is 100mm for a horizontal outlet one.

£217 in the end and stuck with Genuine Volvo (20% sale item!), only because of the limited space in there and a vetus one looks like it needs some modifying in a very confined space which i dont fancy losing the skin on my knuckles for.
