Just planning on adding a second smaller water tank to take the water from our water maker, rather than risk polluting the main tank if it goes pear shaped.

Have found this

It has a 38 mm threaded inlet for I guess a filler hose. However I will be using the 1/2 pipe from the water maker output.

This means that I need to ensure a tight fit between the 38 mm inlet and the 1/2 pipe.
The cheap way would be to get a cap for a 38 mm thread and cut a half inch hole in it. However it is not very elegant.

So anyone got any ideas? I gues a barbed 1/2 connector attached to a 38mm screw threaded lid would be perfect, but I can't see it happening.

I believe that a kitchen sink waste pipe is 38mm and there are 'reducers' for washing machine waste outlet to kitchen sink pipe. These are usually available from B&Q or Wickes?

The inlet spigot doesn't look threaded to me but rather for a 38mm hose and worm drive clip. The best solution I could offer would be: Short length of 38mm hose and a couple of clips, 1 off Aquafax 1 1/2" x 3/4" BSP reducing bush (Part # 1-73255) and one off 3/4" BSP to 1/2" hose tail for the hose.
Should I be mistaken an it is threaded then the reducing bush can go straight in.

Hi Oscar

Wow you must be rich! thats one expensive tank!

I fitted a fresh water tank a few years ago like this under £100 complete with inspection hatch, but comes with no fittings, but the advantage is you can fit your own sizes and where you want them, I just used standard through the hull plastic fitting with Sikaflex sealer, worked ever since.

Why not use a similarly-sized Vetus fuel tank, which is made from the same plastic, but is white rather than green? It comes without fittings, so you can use whatever sizes/positions you need.
