i have a westerly centaur and water settles on cockpit seat`s and is now causing me grief and wet backside everytime I forget it`s wet,
any advice before I attempt a solution I am thinking of piping underside and drilling affected area and taking pipework into footwell area
is this a good solution or should I put ballast in rear to see if this help`s at all

thank`s nick

A properly designed cockpit should drain when the boat's level. Those who know the Centaur better than me will no doubt pipe up if this is a known problem, but if it's not then it sounds like your boat is not trimmed right. It may well be affecting the sailing qualities too (how much of an effect depends on the hull shape).

Better to get weight out of the bow than to add more to the stern.
