My first diesel filter has a drain plug at the bottom for letting water out. If I undo this and let water out will I have to purge the diesel line or will it just pull diesel up from the tank to replace the water?

If youn open the system atall, unless it is the auto bleed type, youwill have to bleed the system. the drain plug is nnot normally for draining water, its usually there to drain the filter before replacement, unless it has a glass bowl?

Hi! George, you mean separ/raccor filters are not acceptable for BSS? Strange that. But who said logic had anything to do with rules!

Just read the relevant chapter Colin and I stand corrected.

BSS:
'You must only use appropriate fire resistant and impact resistant fuel filters designed for marine use. Clear bowl, glass or plastic filters meeting these criteria are acceptable, as long as they are designed for use with the fuel type.'....doh!

I will need to check the Broads Authority Regs, as they do vary slightly on some fuel issues.
