I am getting the usual new boat problems and in some instances not getting very far. But here is one in particular and it concerns the water pumps.

Princess have fitted two greatsilent flush toilets, and then connected them to the fresh water system ( for fresh water flush) via the most noisey water pump you could find. You can hear it outside the boat and it even causes vibration to the galley work surface.

This is normal I am told.

So whats your experience, do you have a quite water pump?? whats the norm

I have a FloJet pump that varies the pump speed as it senses a drop in pressure (hence no accumulator required). You can hear it working, but it's not very obvious. It's mounted on the side of the hull in the bowels of the mid-cabin, so location probably makes a difference too.

I have a Jabsco pump mounted in the lazerette that's so loud you can hear it wherever you are on the boat..

I'm sure it's about to give up but it's located behind the exhaust mufflers and looks a pig of a job to get at so I'm going to wait till it fails (probably mid shower for SWMBO!!) before I become a contortionist.

Try fitting a good size accumulator - I can draw off at least a gallon of water before the pump kicks in - Of course, when it does, it runs for longer until the pressure build again.
I cannot remember the last time I heard it run overnight, and if you wash your hands in the night you do not wake the whole boat.
It also means I get a consistent shower temperature.
