Left in 89! Personally I think water makers are unnecessary in the Med. You don't want to use them in dirty harbours anyway. Not really nec for ARC or Carib or US east coast either.
Justifiable in the Pacific no doubt. The other thing is that they are used to keep water tanks permanently full, slowing the boat down!

See, now I think they allow you to keep your tanks only half full or less. Why ever fill them up when you can make more at a moments notice?

Also, they are REALLY handy in the Caribbean. Where are you going to fill up? At a marina? Quite expensive and time consuming imo.
