I need to fit a larger diameter raw water inlet into my hull and want to replace it with one of those scoop strainers, oval shaped.
The daft question is:
Which way round does it go, Long scoop facing aft, or the long scoop facing fwd, I would have thought the latter so that the fwd motion helps to push water up the tube, although I seem to remember something about keeping it out of the flow in PBO or something, does it matter ??.
I walked around the yard today but not many boats left and they all had round inlets.
I know it's a bit of a daft one, but any wise bods have any thoughts.
