Water in rudder, thoughts anyone.

None have actually failed due to being wet though, it's just something surveyors say to justify their fee.
I stripped my rudder last winter as it had osmosis. As part of checking out a 45 year old rudder, I drilled a few big inspection holes so I could inspect the tangs where they were welded to the shaft. They were in perfect condition, even though the rudder had water in it. Shiny stainless steel.
I built an insulated box around it with kingspan and installed a heater and desk fan. 2 months later it was dry. I regularly blew compressed air through the numerous holes I had drilled to assist in drying. Worked very well.
It got 3 layers of 300g biaxial cloth and should be good for another 45 years. No surveyor involved😁
