Water Heater

Any recommendations for gas or diesel fired water heaters suitable for a 30ft yacht. My 1GM10 is apparently not hot enough to run a c-warm type calorifer so I am looking for an affordable alternative.

Can you design and fabricate your own calorifier using the exhaust gas for heat rather than the cooling water? It would have to go between the maifold and the exhaust cooling water injection point.

I did some research last year and the best I could find is this - http://www.whispaire.co.uk/boat_boiler.html - which is neat, and conforms to current regs on open flame devices. It landed too far down on the priority list to get purchased.
