I want to feed a pressure washer from a water butt or pond.
An suggestions for a cheap suitable inline filter?
The washer is one I picked up fairly cheap, but I'd like it to last a reasonable period.
TIA

Every Karcher washer is designed to be able to suction feed; therefore every Karcher can be fitted with a Karcher filter. They are very good and last for ages.

There is a small mesh, but it's only going to take a tiny volume of dirt to block that.
Ideally, I would like something finer upstream, that would cope with a reasonable amount of dirt.
I can get this for fuel for a couple of quid, can't find anything for water.
I guess the paper-like filters sold for fuel are going to be no good?

Also I'm not sure what a pressure washer will actually cope with?

Something that's easy to clean maybe just by backflushing would be ideal.

Something here perhaps http://www.malcleanse.co.uk/filters-c-540.html otherwise Google for "high pressure pump suction filter"

But first check that your pump will "suck" water from a barrel or a pond. You may have to elevate the barrel ... elevating a pond will be an interesting challenge

Have a look at inline irrigation strainers like these

I use then om our bore hole pump outlet on our garden irrigation system and to filter water into and out of my boat water tanks.
