A long shot in the dark but could these units possibly be re-cored ?

I have been recommended a company called Serck who have repaired these, but not having any luck finding anywhere else.

I think they are made from special things.
Only hope is a specialist radiator/ heat exchanger firm to re solder it.
Could be worth a pressure test to see if they can find the leak. Maybe it’s easily accessible?
That said...for my own piece of mind......I’d just bite the bullet and go new.
Can’t imagine a bit of sea water sucked in with a load of air would have done much. The drain hole has done its job!

Ordinarily I would replace somethink like this for new but after my gearbox woes and all the other work I’ve had done I’m definitely “on a budget” now so if I can get it repaired I will probably will depending the difference in price. The new insert is £1800 cheapest I can get

Someone from another forum has a used one they are letting me have. Once that arrives I’ll be keeping everything crossed it works ok. Then I’ll send mine off at my leisure to get repaired and keep as a spare.
If this one I’m due to receive next couple of days isn’t any good I’ll just have to try get mine fixed sooner

When I got my Cummins aftercooler core repaired the company I used here said any offending tubes ie split , holes etc, they sleeve internally soldering the sleeve in place.. or if it's just one.. plug it as the tubes are very fine on the Cummins unit so plenty of them.. it was an industrial heat exchanger manufacturer / repairer which may give you some more options to look for...

Hey, i'm not a mechanic but i fixed my friend’s boat last night, there was a leak under the transmission cooler, water was dripping mixed with oil. So i replaced it with a new one. I've ordered one online with the same model. It came with oil but i didn't know how to fill it so i watched some videos about methods of transmission fluid checking and installation, i followed the video and installed the cooler. Now there’s no leaks and the boat runs normally but i still have suspicion because it’s not my boat and idk if i fixed it or made it worse ! some advice please !!
