Just been in marina office (well ok a few hours ago).

They're offering a ten pound a night special for this coming weekend so I said I'd post something for them. Its on the BCYA website also from which I have blatantly copied and pasted :D

£10 flat rate per boat per night. Includes electricity and water subject to availability

Applies to Friday 20th, Saturday 21st and Sunday 22nd June 2014.

According to numbers of craft, rafting up may be required.

Some berths may dry to (very) soft mud.

Live music on both Friday and Saturday Nights at The Esplanade Club.

HW Times

Friday 13.03 (9.85m) Saturday 14:08 (9.52m) Sunday 15:17 (9.43m)

Give them a radio on VHF 80 if going in.

Sounds like a good deal to me - except I'm already there.

Can't make it unfortunately as I'm in Denmark. 'some' berths may dry? Soft mud is almost worse than hard mud for our lead wing keel. If it sinks in I am worried about it being damaged by suction coming out. If it doesn't then the boat might tip over on its pontoon! We will try to come soon though but want 1.5m water minimum. Would be happy to raft off a hammerhead to get that and enjoy a great destination.

We had a very pleasant stay in Watchet a month or two ago, so I would have liked to attend. However HW about 1400 is pretty disastrous for anyone coming from "up-channel". We have to travel down on the ebb and then stay at anchor until the gate opens just before HW. So that makes it something like an 0430 start from Portishead. And then the return will end with a similarly uncivilised arrival time back home.

That's a good point, but it would work for Cardiff boats. I might suggest the next one is on differently timed tides for the up channel boats.

Went in Friday night - after aborting an overnight anchorage at Porlock.
About midnight - and its hard to see that entrance at all until you are right on it !
Glad I did it though - as next time it will be easier !

The £10 was a pleasant surprise !
