Watchet Marina August Party

One thing I should say is that the mens toilets and showers were in a disgusting state on the |Sunday morning and totally unacceptable. I complained and to be fair the staff did react, but they shouldnt have needed reminding to do their job.

Not the first time at Watchet either.

I agree but what do you do if people leave them like that? I only say this as I saw a visiting boat owner (possibly v drunk) get covered in mud, wander into the Watchet showers 5 mins later and left the place looking like the Somme. At 11pm. The staff went in at 7am and spent 2 hours (2 people) trying to get the place usable again. Now if that's not unacceptable then I don't know what is.

Not defending them - just saying there is often a reason behind problems like this (as I used to work for MDL (please don't kill me)) so I know what it's like.

I'll mention this to the manager today if I see him as I know he likes to sort out these problems.

I've no doubt the management didnt dirty the bogs themselves, but the general public who did dirty them are the people the marina staff are paid to look after. What irritated me was that the marina staff didnt know the state of the toilets because they hadnt checked - and this was early-ish morning.

Basic principle of effective management - check your patch out as soon as you come on duty.

That's a fair point I guess!

I saw the manager not 10 mins ago and he was not a happy chappie. Apparently advert for new cleaner went in paper this week. Hopefully improvements just around the corner.

Just a quickie......what time did you find the facilities on the sunday? Maybe they did check first thing but people trashed them?
