Couple of hours ago, turned the tap on to a gurgle and some spitting, bugger, nice time to run out of water. Put my hat and coat on and went out into the cold night to fill the tanks. I turned the hose on and dragged it around the stern and up the port side to the filler, the hose was pretty stiff. Nipped back below the let the tanks fill and poured a stiff Vodka.

Once the tanks were full i hurried topside and pulled the hose from the tank, dropped it over and screwed the filler cap back on. Climbing over the stb side i walked around the stern to turn the hose off and coil it up when i unexpectedly ended up on my back. The little bit of water that spilled from the hose as i climbed aboard had frozen solid in the time it took the tanks to fill. Ouch !!

If i'd have been walking close to the edge of the pontoon i could easily have been MOB. Called the lock tower and Mark, the lock keeper promptly came down and sprinkled some salt on the ice, top man :encouragement:
