No, not a posting about how to unblock a mini-septic tank!

Im going to look at a yacht tomorrow fitted with a holding tank. Its nearly new, and was bought new in UK for UK coastal cruising. I'm a little suspicious why anyone would want to spend £1500 on this option. The yacht normally lives in a marina, so I doubt the heads have been used near to the shoreline. Any ideas? Should I be suspicious? Might it be have originally been built for the med market, and then the order cancelled?

Why the suspicion Jeremy ? Is it a british boat ? Some Swedish boats have a holding tank fitted as a standard item . I've a holding tank and I'm on a marina pontoon. Sometimes I use the tank in the marina. The owner might have bought the boat for coastal cruising , but he could have had the bigger picture in mind when he bought the boat. If he bought it from new , it's easier to fit a tank when the boat is being built than fit one later.

Its a lightly-specified Bav 34, Bill. Just seems a strange thing to pay for, rather than something more useful like an anchor windlass, (or in this case a fixed VHF!!)
