Just found out that there is no pump out facility in the marina. So, how can I discharge the waste thank? Drive a 3 miles offshore? Any ideas?

I ask the previous owner, he told me that he never used the waste thank. No wonder the tank looks quite new and clean!

Guys, how do you deal with the waste disposal?

Cant you just go to the closest marina that does have a pump out facility and pay to get it emptied?

Using the the onboard facilities for “liquids and paper only” means that any required maintenance (e.g. sorting out a knackered macerator) is bearable.
Using the onboard facilities for the full range of human products results in a holding tank, pipework, and macerator that has really quite a special aroma.
Please don’t ask me how I know this to be true.

+1 to this approach. SOS is very much the Rafiki approach to waste :encouragement:

Liquids only on board any lady blot paper goes in a small bin not in the loo. All our black waste goes to the holding tanks first no option to send it overboard directly, dumb but inherited.I put freshwater via shower handset in periodically and pump that from the holding tanks to keep them 'sweet' otherwise use shoreside facilities. Only one local pumpout, not in our marina, and open sea 3 miles out too many squids of diesel away. If we had direct overboard option it would be used, emergency only, like in a bad storm at night. Our heads are both above the waterline and tank outlets routinely left open so most liquid collected gets to go straight out anyway.
