Judging by Yarmouth harbour webcam the place is full

They were full by about 1pm on Friday . We’d anchored behind Hurst Castle on Thursday night expecting to head south first thing next day, but changed plans on rechecking the forecast after anchoring. So after a big brunch Friday morning, we put into Yarmouth at about midday to wait out the weather. I was off the boat much of the afternoon, but my friend who stayed on board said the radio was going all day with people being turned away. I know both Lymington marinas were full as we thought of going there first.

Apart from the flukey winds, yesterday was a good day on the water so most will hunker down today and head back with the wind behind them tomorrow.

Yesterday was good all round - solid force 4 on the beam all day, no flukiness with us. Sunshine, no spray. Made a nice swift crossing in about nine hours from the Needles. Pleasant evening on the moorings in Braye.

Cherbourg is like an extension of Port Solent on these occasions isn't it? Lots of wet English people waiting for time to go out to dinner.

Just checked the webcam, - a few spaces have appeared which seems a bit odd.

Wind must have been a lake Solent thing, a coupe of times I was pointing into other boats' apparent wind
