Hi All,

What is the best way to wash/polish the boat when it is still in the water? Get in a tender and scoot around the boat?

Ricky

you will find it very difficult to push against the hull from a tender alongside.

These may be helpful for curved surfaces.

or from good old Screwfix

Not wanting to hijack your'e thread but has anyone any experience of theses suction pad thingies?
I've tried scooting round the boat in a tender whilst trying to wash the boat and hang on to the boat at the same time....blooming hard work it is too so this might be a worthwhile gadget to add to the 1000's of other gadgets that we can't live without for one reaon or another...
Any views?

Suction lifters would work I guess but a bit of a palaver. Can't you work in the semi-shallows with fisherman's chest waders? At least you aren't hanging over the gunwale of a dinghy. Lidl do sell them from time to time, I suggest you try them out whilst they've still got a stock though, I bought 2 pairs, one of which leaked through the seams at crotch level. Very disconcerting and by the time I found out Lidl had moved on to the next special range.

Why not wash polish the pontoon side of the boat then spin her round and do the other? Thats what Ive always done. Whenever Ive tried from a tender you always waste twice as much time and do a half good job.

Hi Ricky_S
I have polished our boats from a tender without any problems. Difficult to polish down to water line from the pontoon as pontoon a little on the high side. I tie a rope from bow (Normally anchor head) to stern (Bathing platfrom) and hang it over the side. I pass the rope under the lifting davits on the tender and then tie off. I can then slide the tender along the full length of the boat with no worry of push off when polishing.
Works for me hope it helps you

This has always seemed the sensible way to us.
