Whilst I keep my old Musto MPX Goretex oilies in good working order by:
1/ a first machine-wash to clean with Nikwax Tech Wash at 40deg (as per label)
2/ a second machine-wash to re-proof with Nikwax TX.Direct Wash-In at 40deg (as per label)
3/ tumble-drying on a low heat (as per label)
But I'm not sure how to clean and re-proof my cheaper spare XM Offshore 'breathable' oilies.
These aren't proper single-membrane breathables like Goretex, but rely on an inner mesh layer, and the label says hand-wash only at 30deg and don't tumble-dry.
Should I just swish them around a bathfull of warm water (to get rid of different crews' food, puke, urine and sweat soilings) and hang to dry, or could I risk a 30deg synthetics wash in the machine?
And what about using either of the Nikwax cleaning or re-proofing products?
