Trying to get my head round the wording, but it seems vessels over 3 years old aren't covered or if they do more than 17 knots.

Reading it again, this is specific to "machinery damage", but I'm still unsure how "heavy weather" could cause machinery damage unless you are blown onto rocks or something.

I wonder if the IPID is written by a different person than the policy? So that some bright spark has added in the 10m limit and the IPID has not been updated.

What did the previous year’s policy say about the topic?

It’s awkward for existing customers with >10m craft who might reasonably expect renewal terms to be ‘as before’ save where their attention had been drawn to a change.

The IPID is dated Jan 24 so it hasn't been updated to reflect the additional exclusions. Very poor.

Something that irritates me about insurance products generally is that if mid-term adjustments are made, you get sent 10 documents that are probably (but possibly not) materially similar to what you’ve had before, instead of a confirmation that nothing has changed except for the first sentence on page 37 of the policy wording.
