Yes I know it sounds silly but the Webasto Airtop 5000 on my Broom 39 failed as winter disappeared and I thought I would see about replacing it now rather than wait till Autumn.
The Evo 55 seems to be the replacement model but at nearly £2000. I wondered if anybody had a cheaper supplier or any thoughts about changing to Eberspacher.
Would the Webasto Evo 40 not be big enough?? any thoughts or suggestions gratefully received

Can't answer your questions, but is there any reason the Webasto can't be repaired. My Webasto is a great piece of kit, never let us down. If you do have to replace it I was given some excellent advice on here to the effect that it's better to have a smaller heater working hard rather than a larger heater working at half power, all to do with all the carbon being burnt off, or not.

Yes looked at getting it repaired. Quotes of 5 to 700 pounds. Its now 14 years old is it worth it? Buy new get peace of mind for three years

There is a heating specialist who posts on here but can't remember his name. Worth doing a forum search for Webasto and Eberspacher, David and some numbers rings a bell.

How do you find the 5kW heater has performed ? Is it well within its capacity in your boat? If so a 4kW working harder might be better bet.
Having said that I would probably have gone with the repair .
