Re: hello? (NM)

still here... and coming Saturday. Don't know about the evening though - don't fancy returning down the river without at least good moonlight - too many trots etc.
Quay @1200 - then anything can happen!

Re: hello? (NM)

Still no boat, so I'll be driving. Will be there for 12. Not staying for evening - far too much chance of me imbibing copious amounts of alcohol and being unable to drive!!

Re: simple. don\'t read thread

Þ....

If you ain't coming, yo don't need to read the thread /forums/images/icons/smile.gif

If it was all done by email and pm, then any newbies like myself wouldn't have much chance of joining in or even knowing about it.

Re: hello? (NM)

I was in Wareham yesterday. What was going on on the quay. There was a few yachts there with flags all over them.

OK, to hell with it. Unbolt it and we'll use it as an anchor!

Damn!!

They must have got their weekends mixed up. /forums/images/icons/laugh.gif

Re: hello? (NM)

I'm hoping to stay in a B&B and go back down the river on Sunday. Steve is going to stay on the Quay and guard the boats for the night, that's right, eh Steve?

Re: hello? (NM)

I'm wondering wether its worth taking the boat. Tow it down from surrey, launch at Redcliffe just to potter up the river for a mile!

OK, to hell with it. Unbolt it and we'll use it as an anchor!

Re: Damn!!

dunno! i was on my boat just moving moorings, i did consider that if they were there next weekend things might get tight!

i know that last weekend a lot of the yaucts were being taken out for the winter... maybe thats why? i'll see the EA bloke and see if he knows.

Re: hello? (NM)

i wondered that myself. as for guarding boats.. you ain't met my wife have you?

she guards the US fleet off portland.... from here!! when she says jump.. you don't have time to ask "how high"!

i tried to have a count up of who, where and when, also how many would bring boats.. weather etc. i think it came to about 8-12 people and about 3 -4 boats.

also those eating need to book, and those staying in the black bear also.

Re: Damn!!

Steve,

What's the story with the restaurant? Is the 16-20 party us or do we each book single cover?

Re: Damn!!

stopped in there today after checking boat/mooring. all they need to know is numbers, i need a list of people who are coming to wareham quay for 12:00, and who'll be staying into the evening, and out of those who'll be wanting to join in with the italian thing. its up to you, either book in your name and just say your with steves perty. or use my name... but if you do please turn up... or they'll send the boys round!

i didn't want an additional post as it seems to drift and it's hard to keep track of who wants what. i may post question for a simple answer and see how it goes.

provisionally there is a table available for 16-20 of us, so i need to know about partners too. if below 16 of us then we can have individual tables in a group. also once i have numbers i have a menu if this makes tings easier.

what do you think?

Re: Damn!!

I'm definitely coming for the meal. Just booked Friday and Saturday at Black Bear so I can practice drinking local brew early. /forums/images/icons/wink.gif

Re: hello? (NM)

Yeh take the boat, otherwise there won't be many to sit on. More fun us all sitting on a boat boozing, rather than in the pub or on the Quay. I'll be coming by boat, unless the weather is really foul.

I've booked in the Black Bear for Saturday night, have phoned the Itallian and let Steve know we will be eating Sat evening. Promising to be a good do, just hope weather is half decent, I'll be most disappointed if I have to arrive by road.

Good on Steve, for doing a lot of leg work.

All this at the risk of boring Haydn, we are actually doing it!
