Wareham Quay and river

Thinking for going up to Wareham quay on Sat - with the tide of course - and staying the night against the quay.
Has anyone been up there recently and can tell me the state of the bottom and the quay please?
We are a fin keeler 35ft and draw 1.5m. Its a 2.1m tide.
There do not appear to be any river trips from Poole those days so that's a help

I will be interested to hear how you get on !
I think, but am not sure, that you will struggle to get up to the quay and when the tide goes out you will find that the quay isn't sufficiently high to be tied on and not fall over, in other words your deck will be well above quay. Obviously nearly all the water bar maybe 0.5m will have disappeared.
You could instead try Redclyffe yacht club, they have a pontoon and accept visitors, but not sure if they do so on a Saturday night. Give them a call re availability and size. It's only a 10 minute walk into Wareham.

Long time since I have been up to the quay but seem to remember a bit of a ledge and then the bottom sloped. would be interested to hear how you get on if you try it as my boat is similar dimensions and fancy going there. Used to do it quite often when i had a smaller boat drawing 1m with a long straight keel.

Thanks guys - was hoping for feedback from someone who had been up there recently and dried out.
May well head for Redclyffe yacht club and walk from there if they have room.

Stopped over night in my twin keel W Griffon about three weeks ogo.
I draw 1m though...
The bottom slopes away from the Quay a bit - hard gravel/mud.
Can be a bit noisy until about 11:30 ish sometimes.
Trip boats do come up from Poole, but don't stop overnight.
I always bring all my lines back on board as someone did try and untie me many years ago.

Red Cliff don't accept visitors on their pontoon at the weekend, but might have space on a mid river fore and aft mooring. It is worth giving them a call. Very frendly club.

Trip up the river is nice - the shallowest bit is on the corner before Red Cliff club.

iSailor has that bit as drying 0.5 metres, Navionics web site has it at 0.2, and my paper chart (uncorrected) gives 1m.

I think you may be have some diiculty in getting to the Quay, and if you did staying there with a fin Keebler over the low tide may be problematic. We took our boat up the river near the top of the rising tide (fin keel draws nearly 1.6m) and we couldn't reach Redcliffe YC because of the bump before the club. Discretion being the better part of valour we turned and made our way back to the Harbour. As far as I recall this was a couple of days off springs.

You'll probably be able to get up to the Boatyard just below the Yacht Club - Ridge Wharf Yacht Centre. It's about a mile walk into Wareham from there. We got up there at neaps in our 1.1m draft bilge Moody 31. You can raft up to a boat on there wooden quayside or against the quay itself so should be on the soft mud as the tide goes out. Give them a call for advice.
