You're quite near the Hawk Conservancy, aren't you? I'd just sneak in one day, when they're not looking, and borrow one of their Eagle Owls.
Alternatively, I understand that seagulls aren't very keen on dead sheep. Do you have a piece of headgear that could masquerade as such? You could suspend it from your crosstrees.
I used to use one of these commercial savonius rotor devices when the mast was up. Very effective,when it was sent up on the burgee halyard at the end of a trip.

At about £9 from your local farm supplier, it's good value
Berthon at Lymington have a PA system which blasts out the sound of a gull in distress at regular intervals. It sounds awful, but it seemed very effective.
Hearing it conjured up a mental picture of a gull being tortured with fiendish instruments by a wild-eyed, mad mobo owner with a tape recorder.
The authors of Leviticus and Deuteronomy seem not to like them.

Am open to correction, but I think it was Colin of Englander fame that hung a dead seagull on his boat and that was the end of his problem with seagulls, but the beginning of his problems with seagull-huggers.
