Hi,
Can anyone help me with my search for detailed stats on the Van de Stadt Pioneer 9 please? I am looking for all dimentions, weights, any known problems and basic construction details.
I'm amazed I can't find this on google, but I can't.
Any help will be greatfully received.
Thanks in advance.

Hi,
Thanks. I do seem to remember it.
I guess I am more after a construction schematic than anything else. Maybe asking too much?
Cheers,
Nicki

I think you'll struggle to get construction plans. I have this, from an old Bristows Book of yachts ...

Thank you, thank you all.
Your rapid and salient responses are greatly appreciated.
Love the picture. The boat looks great.
Anybody know anything about Pioneer 9 keelbolts?
Thanks again,
Nicki

A letter in one of the Sailing Mags a couple of months ago from a Pioneer owner talked about checking his keel bolts after a heavy grounding off Jersey. He found them to still be perfect at 40 years old. As an owner I would only have concern if there is any indication that the keel sheathing has been broken down for some time allowing water into the keel hull joint. I and my father have owned a Pioneer for nearly 30 years now so can give you some idea of areas to look at if you are thinking of buying. One area which you should check is the deck beams under the mast which can be weak, easily resolved and many boats will have already been done. Feel free to contact me by PM and I will give you a phone number if you wish to discuss.

Hello Neil,
Can you help please?
My brother and I purchased a pioneer 9 last year. We have been refitting the v-berth and have noticed the mast step has compressed about 1/4". The previous owner removed the v-berth and installed two quarter births. By cutting two holes one port and one starboard. Through the bulkhead ?. We have closed the holes with buffalo board and are in the progress of glassing it over. Can you please advise me on how to fix the mast step???

Thank you so much for even taking the time to read this

George
