Wanted SPDT Relay 12 volt / 50 Amp

The problem is that the OP was looking for a SPDT, the Durite one is a SPST

As I understand the OP needs, he is looking for a relay which gives power though to connection 'A' with no power on the coil and power through to connection 'B' with the coil energised. In other words he requires a two pole relay with a normally closed contact and a normally open contact. (I THINK)

I know what you mean :D and yes a SPDT is what I require.

I know I can use two SPST relays but that would just add more relays (moving parts) to go wrong. :(

Also looking for a LICON micro switch which is also required (see the Wanted section).

The other thing to watch is the NC rating is normally lower than the NO rating, but sellers have the habit of only listing the better rate.

Hiya Brian, I was aware. ;)

The trouble is that the writers of the brochures only seem to list the max/peak ratings and unwary sales persons get 'taken in' and try to fob you off with a "40 Amp relay Sir" until I dutifully point out that it has Lucar (spade) terminals which can only handle 'possibly' 20 Amps (continuous) max. :(

All the relay companies seem to do it. Countless times I have dealt with electrical 'faults' which involved Lucar connectors only to find that the female terminal was soft and had been annealed due to passing too much current in the past. :(

This is probably why this yacht had incorrect wiring, relays, switches and chocolate blocks to start with and probably was the reason it burnt out with such damaging results.

ps: How can you have a current rating on a NO contact? ;)
