Wanted: Raymarine type Wind Instrument ST60/ST50

I know there is a forum for wanted stuff, but no joy there ...

I want a Raymarine (or Raytheon, Autohelm) Wind Instrument; preferably ST60, but an ST50 would do. It's to do some testing for an electronics project.

Anyone got one and can't be bothered to put it on eBay? Can pay by cash, cheque or PayPal.

I have an ST80 active transducer if it's any use, quite a large mount though (the hockey stick type)

Can have a look on the chandlery barge at the weekend if you like, but they do have a reputation for not being cheap. Is it just the meter or transducer as well you are after ?

It's the display I need

Not sure what you're doing, but I have a defunct ST50 Compass display which has a revolving needle and little 7-seg window just like a Wind display, if that helps?

EDIT: To be clear, by "defunct" I mean that the computer part of it is fairly comprehensively knackered, but perhaps you just need the case and moving dial.

And what were the symptoms on the display you did get hold of? Does it appear to power up but just not recognise data going to it? Or is it lacking in Seatalk output?

Thanks Pete, but I want a working Wind display to test a transponder. Having done that, I will look into making a dedicated tester. The tests on the Raymarine site come out inconclusive, and I've tried another transponder with the same results.

My first mistake is that it's an ST80 and doesn't have a transponder input! The second is that it was listed as having a faulty display, so I assumed it could be a contact problem. It isn't. I took a gamble and lost.

From personal experience and from another friend, the computer part of the ST60 wind works ok as we can see results from the multi on the seatalk chain. It is the needle driver that fails with the added pain of being impossible to align it. My friend found second hand and in modest price an STsomething wind display only (without the computer part), connected it to the faulty ST60 wind and it worked. The old ST60 (still connected) he put it in the locker. I am looking for similar solution myself.
