Hi guys

New second hand boat to me,four winns 215 used to be fitted with a power hatch.

There is a switch on the dash and brackets under the rear sun lounger, but no motor.

Any ideas where i could find 1 of these as the engine hatch is rather large and heavy.

Thanks in advance

Simon

My 2004 Four Winns (built 2003) uses an "Acculift" actuator; MO347, the length (excluding the ram) is 71cm.

It's held in place 2 quick release stainless pins. The ram is not directly connected to the hatch. A length of 2" rigid PVC pipe is, the ram moved inside that pipe, the bolt in the ram end protrude into 2 machined slots. Normally, the bolt/ end of the ram is at the top of the slots. If the motor or battery fails when the hatch is closed, the hatch can be manually lifted and the bolt slides in the slots.

If you go to the Four Winns website (customer service tab) there are complete parts listings for all recent models (from around 1996 I think) as well as past specs/ performance/ fuel data. There's also a lot of information on the FW owners forum; ifourwinns.com

Is there a manual release if the battery is dead?

Yes; in such a scenario the hatch can be manually lifted; the bolt at the end of the ram I mentioned simply slides down the (47cm long) slots in the outer tube.

The ram is purely electro mechanical with a ball screw. The rams position is totally secure whatever the degree of opening
