Do you fancy earning a few £££? I'm doing renovations aboard my 24 year old Westerly and need a skilled craftsman capable of building cupboards to a good standard.

The picture below is an example of what we are looking for

PM me if you can demonstrate the skills and experience necessary for a good standard of work.

Thanks ... Shaun

Oooh, if you find a good one let me know, need some cherry veneer replacing in saloon
I do have a card of someone at Island harbour that does woodwork, have a car on boat but I'm here in Wilts. I'll dig it out next time I'm over if that's not too late for you (couple of weeks)
He was recommended by someone at the Classic Boat Museum

You could try contacting Mike at Wight Projects - he has recently carried out a complete restoration of a Sonny Levi designed Settimo Velo powerboat, and he owns the classic sailing yacht Joliette.

Lots of photos of his work here - I think you can probably see them even if you are not logged into Facebook :

Elephant Boatyard? Lallows? SYS in Southampton maybe? I havent used any, being E Coast based. Or could you head west? I am amazed there is no one in the Solent doing this and cant really believe it. None will be cheap but good work is never cheap and in my experience cheap work isnt worth having.

Mant thanks.

I'll try the suggestions you made. I'm not looking for cheap. I'm looking for good quality at a reasonable price. (I'm starting to think this is an alien concept in the Solent). I was hoping to be able to give the money to an honest craftsman who would welcome the wage, rather than a more expensive boatyard. If push comes to shove I'll go where I need, the work needs to be done by winter.

Thanks ... Shaun

Hi Fizzwizz
Apologies for delay, now been down to boat and have card. David Munt of DFM Joinery, think he lives on boat at Island Harbour as his van's always there. 07970 446191. As mentioned he was recommended to me by quite an old school, saily type bloke at Classic Boat Museum on Island
Hope this helps
