Costa Smeralda

apart from being expensive is really not worth going to being on one of the more unattractive stretches of the N Sardinian coast.

Cannigione, Palau, La Maddalena (with its archipelago) are all far prettier. Even Olbia and Alghero are (IMHO) more fun and lively.

The beautiful people only arrive there for July-August.

I use an in-line filter on the end of the hose while filling and a filter which fits onto the end of the galley tap. It's designed to fit a household tap, so if you haven't that kind on board, I suggest a small in-line filter under the sink. I don't know how much bottled water costs over there, but it's much more expensive than petrol here and often comes from a tap, so they've discovered. The other possibility is to Brita filter it into bottles. Bottled water is an utter waste of money.
