I'm posting this on behalf of a friend who does not use the internet and who I like enough to want to help out, he has an interesting offer of a crew position and I copy the ad below that he asked me to distibute:
_____________
Bob's bit....
Fed up with life?
Want to get away?
Want to do something completely different?
Do you have a sense of adventure?
Well, how about sailing on a 31 foot boat to Australia and New Zealand. I am 62 years of age and seeking female company to accompany me on this challenging trip.
My ideal "shipmate" will probably be feeling very fed up with their life, will just want to get away from it all. They must have no family ties or committments whatsoever. She must speak fluent English and be at least 35 years of age. A good sense of humour is important, as good health and not being a user of drugs or excess alcohol. Sailing experience is not essential as plenty of time to learn on the way!!! Contact Bob with all your details and a recent photo and telephone number and the reason why you want to do this trip.
Please feel free to ask questions.
Mr Bob Smeed,
c/o Port de Plaisance,
Bassin Quest,
Calais 62100,
France.

Tel: 0044 (0) 79 46 38 52 49

I wonder if she wants to go all the way back again? It certainly is something someone would either really really want to do, or something someone would really, really not want to do. And then wanting to go on such a voyage might be very different to actually carrying it through.
I think too much!
You in Ipswich, I'm in Woodbridge, neaped for eighty percent of the time on a mud bank, but that gives me the excuse to hang out in the pub across the road, The Anchor, where I play saxophone on a Monday night in a jamming session.
