wanna buy a boat?!

Shhhh, about 5 of us in the local Yc were going to bid on this for a holiday home.

We discussed this while being rather intoxicated and then when sober realised we'd never even seen the boat to know what sort of condition its in.

Search for 'Skipper 53' on Google images to see the layout etc, it is a pretty nice boat.

Anyone got experiences with C&S designs boats?

4 sets of heads! Blimey. That's also a lot of teak decking to be scrubbed and by the looks of things re caulked. Nice lines though and great looking cockpit for the Med - not many bracing points for a NW 4-5 in the channel though.

Layout down below is really nice and a nice big lump of a volvo engine to move it about the marina. Nice dream - Any guesses on the final sale price? I am thinking £65K

I would have guessed about that, depending if there is even that much interest.

Can't imagine the market for tatty 53 footers is that great?

Add in £30K (or more) for replacement of the deck, from what I could see on the vid.

Best subtract the £30000 before bidding!
Unless it is really cheap I cant see the point in buying something like that at auction. You have no idea who will bid and how high, but you would still need to shell out for a survey before hand. You could commision a lot of surveys before you won an auction.
