After the recent Youtube thread I was wondering what Wandering Steve was up to. I managed to get in touch on Facebook asking if he had managed to get over the pond... I had this reply.

Hi no sadly not i had to stop at Cape Vede after an aborted attempt due to bad weather! Am in Uk at the moment getting funds together to go back to the boat when i am able!

I did ask if I could post an update on here but no reply and it's been a few days so I'm guessing he's not a frequent internet user. I know there's a few others asking about him so I thought would stick a post up to let people know he's not drifting around the Atlantic, or at the bottom of it after changing another seacock which is good news in my book. I'm sure good news to him would be reading it in the Caribbean.

I've been checking his Youtube site every week looking for any updates. Very glad to hear he is well, even if not too happy at present. If he does contact you, perhaps you might suggest he leaves a short update on his last video so that we all know what's happened.

Shame as his you tube channel was pretty good. Something quite honest and authentic about it. Did read his laptop packed up in the Canaries which may have been a fatal blow to the channel.

Wandering Steve has surfaced in the Cape Verdes. Details at 8 minutes in this video from Alex (Winded Voyage Sailing). He did try the Atlantic but had a few snags and turned back to the CVs.

Alex Thompson is also in the CV with his yacht less the keel, oops.

If he's back here he'll be complaining about the weather as usual but at least he doesn't have to sail in it! Good to hear he's OK...
