We managed to reach the Walton & Frinton Y C on Monday last in the tender from a mooring in the Twizzle

What a smashing place. We were shown round by a lovely lady working in the office. She and the other members can be justifiably proud of the job the club have done with the new extension.

The views out over the Backwaters are outstanding. Time & tide prevented us from sampling the food etc.but it is on our "must visit again" list for next season.

So glad you enjoyed your short visit.

Now you have proved Foundry Reach up to the club; next time possibly an overnight in The Walton Yacht Basin (The posh name for The Pond)?

Time to explore Walton, I am sure you will not be disappointed.

Walton, indeed, is the cultural centre of Essex. On the other hand, if you want to slum it, the Naze Tower is quite fun and some of the art shown there is worth considering.

We had a club dinner as visitors a week ago at Walton but it was just before their caterers left. The meal was fine, if not memorable. My steak was actually very good. I'm not a member myself but know one or two, including a major benefactor recently.
