Planning to go into Walton B'waters tomorrow. Just wondering what is considered 'strong winds' (ECP) from NE? We draw 1.5m
Thanks

F6 or more. Can’t imagine you’d have any problem on the forecast I’ve seen this morning. Be sure to look at the chartlet for Stone Point on our Downloads page.
We're only moving on from the Stour so my plan was to run by genny with motor as backup on approach. If not enough wind then we'll get the main up - but then it's unlikely to be choppy ?In terms of depth, I would merely leave a greater margin, especially over the Pye sands. The rough bit is the short section between the channel to Hamford Water and the Walton channel, where it can be a bit choppy even in a moderate easterly. On the whole, I would be happy entering in any weather I would be prepared to go out in. One decision that needs to be made is where you are going to drop the main if, lke me, you prefer to do this in settled water. Normally, for me, the best place is at the entrance to Hamford Water, between the Walton channel and the speed limit buoy. If it is choppy there I prefer to go into Hamford Water or into the Walton channel.
